Captain Charlie moved to the area when he was 11 years old and fell in love with the water. He became an avid fisherman, learning the waterways of Orange Beach and the surrounding areas and catching the various species of fish.
There’s a wide choice of fish to target in Orange Beach. Some of the species you can catch are Black Drum, Cobia, King Mackerel, Pompano, Redfish and many more. You can bring kids along on your trip and you’ll be keeping your catch.
You will go out on a 24’ Triton (Bay boat) powered by a 250 HP Suzuki engine. The boat is powerful and fast in getting you out to the waters so you don’t waste time on a lengthy ride. The boat is fully equipped with all the electronics you need to locate the fish, as well as a live bait well, and a wireless trolling motor for the shallower waters.
You will be provided with the necessary fishing gear, the live baits and even the cleaning and filleting service. All you have to bring is lots of positive energy, snacks, drinks and sun protection!

I’ve fished with capt Charlie about a handful of times and I will say that fishing with him is the highlight of fall break. It was a tough trip and the conditions weren’t right, but captain Charlie and gill made the trip. He makes you feel like family when you are on the boat with him. I highly recommend captain Charlie to anyone looking to fish down here.

Booked this trip with a friend of mine while we were on spring break with our families. Captain Charlie was fantastic! He took us to several places inland and along the shoreline. He was very knowledgeable and had some great stories to share. I highly recommended this boat and crew!

Took my grandsons, 8 and 13, on a 4 hour inshore charter and had a blast. Upon arrival at the marina Capt. Charlie advised the fishing was not very good the day before and asked us if we would like to stay on schedule. We did and we had a great time. He put us on the fish and my grandsons were able to catch some nice ones. Will definitely charter with them again. Great family experience.

Captain Charlie was great! His years of skill and knowledge were evident with our successful trip. He did a great job keeping our kids engaged and helping them so me and my wife could enjoy ourselves without having to help them. I truly enjoyed myself, as did my wife and we can’t wait to make it a tradition. 100% will be going with Southern Sun Inshore Charters.
